We already thought Doctor Strange would be important to Avengers: Infinity War and it seems we might have been on to something.
Appearing on tonight’s (April 20) The Graham Norton Show, Benedict Cumberbatch spoke about being one of the few people who knows the “true plot” of Infinity War as he was actually allowed to read the whole script.
We’re assuming he was actually given the real one and not the one with “fake endings, fake scenes”.
“I was allowed to read the whole script so I do know what is happening, but I can’t tell you about it. What I can say is that I am helping the world and worlds beyond it – potentially,” Cumberbatch teased.
And he really means that he can’t say anything about it as when asked if Infinity War will see the end of Doctor Strange and others, he only replied: “Let that rumour take flight.”
To add fuel to that particular fire, Cumberbatch revealed earlier this week that there are currently no plans for Doctor Strange 2.
“I know the latest is that I might not make it out of this film alive. It’s only [written at] the end of the first film, ‘Doctor Strange will be back’. I have been back, in Thor: Ragnarok, and obviously in [Avengers: Infinity War],” he explained.
“There’s nothing to say, either contractually or otherwise, that he’s coming back again. I haven’t seen the film, so God knows, that might be it.”
The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One at 10.35pm tonight (April 20). Avengers: Infinity War is released in UK cinemas on April 26 and US cinemas on April 27. Book tickets now.
