The latest series of Black Mirror is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited for our latest insight into Charlie Brooker’s twisted, and brilliant, mind.
And a little terrified too, of course.
Chatting to The Hollywood Reporter about the relationship between the show and real-life events – we’re looking at you, #piggate – Charlie admitted that he hopes to blur the line between reality and fantasy “even further” with the latest series.
Although we’re not quite sure we’re prepared for that, to be honest.

“I remember when we started doing season three, which was the first Netflix season, I said to myself that people always think we’re predicting the future and that we weren’t this time around,” Charlie admitted. “I felt that it was so far-fetched.”
Tempting fate with the old adage that truth is stranger than fiction, Charlie added: “So I keep thinking that this next season is pushed even further and there’s no way.
“But you can bet within five minutes, Elon Musk is going to pop up with something. We should basically be in product or app design and should be patenting these things.”
While we’re not quite sure what kind of things Charlie might want to be patenting in the future, we do have a semblance of an idea now that our first trailer for the series has arrived.
Introducing the episode ‘USS Callister’, season four promises to blend the futuristic, the creepy and the down right crazy. Exactly what we were hoping for, then.
