As the new series of Love Island got underway, the eleven Islanders were introduced to each other.
However, it appears two already knew each other when they came face to face.
Having spotted Kem Cetinay in the brand new villa, the Islander, who dated TOWIE’s Jon Clark, declared that she knew him because she had dated his best friend for a short time.
“Oh my God! I know him,” she told the girls.

Speaking to Caroline later on, the budding TV star went into a bit more detail: “I dated his best mate.
“But to be fair, it wasn’t really dating. It was a bit of dinner, that was it really. Put the past in the past.”
Realising that Chloe was in the villa, Kem gave his thoughts about the coincidence when he told the camera in the beach hut: “I already know her briefly. She slept with one of my best mates, my closest mate.
“He probably wouldn’t care, I know it wasn’t anything serious.”
However, Kem and Chloe weren’t the only ones who knew each other in the villa.
Montana Brown was seen declaring to her fellow Islanders that she knew Jessica Shears because they dated the same man at the same time.

After debating whether she should go over to Jessica to talk about their link, the pair had a chat.
“I was just realising he was being really shady with pictures and I was thinking ‘that’s weird.’ I called him out on it’,” Montana recalled before adding: “It was on the last night and I was like ‘I don’t know about you but we just didn’t really get along..
“And then he just goes ‘yeah, well I have been seeing some girl anyway’ and I was like ‘what?”, when Jess suggested that they “must have both kicked off at the same time.”
While Montana felt enlightened after their chat, the same couldn’t be said for Jess who admitted in the beach hut that she didn’t “owe” her fellow Islander any loyalties.
“It’s good talking to her about it because it’s nice to see her point of view but at the same time it’s a bit of a revelation because I didn’t realise they were properly dating,” she stated.

“Part of me is like ‘I got there first with this guy that me and Montana were both sort of texting at the same time.’ I know I was there first. So part of me does think ‘I was there first and you sort of got in the way’ so I don’t know how vindictive I’m feeling yet.
