Colin Farrell recalls his first nude scene[Gabe Ginsberg/WireImage]
The Irish actor regaled the tale on The Ellen Show as part of her charity initiative.
Colin explained how the awkward moment came about while filming the 2000 military film Tigerland in which he played a soldier against the Vietnam war drafted into the army and stationed at a training camp, during the mid-1960s to early 1970s, located at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
“I was very nervous ’cause I’d never done a sex scene,” Farrell told Ellen. “I went up to the director, Joel Schumacher, and I had a dressing gown on and nothing underneath.

“I was obviously so nervous that I lost my mind for a second because I opened my dressing gown and said, ‘Is this a bit… is it a bit…’ because I had, like most men, what you could refer to as retro bush.”
“I trimmed the right side a little bit, then obviously had to match it and trimmed the left, but overshot the mark, so I had to get back in, approach the right again, overshot that,” he joked.
“At this stage, I was sweating. Went back in and re-approached the landing on the left, then I looked down and I had a little landing strip. Lovely little landing strip.”
Sadly his handiwork didn’t make the final cut of the movie so we’ll never see that landing strip.
Colin’s naked body will be seen in new movie The Beguiled, co-starring Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst and Elle Fanning.
But it will just be his voice heard in the Dumbo remake when he takes on the role of Holt in Tim Burton’s remake.
The Beguiled is out on June 23.
