Laura Linney’s character sadly didn’t end up with the lust-worthy Karl (Rodrigo Santoro) but she did end up with another heartthrob.
Comic Relief US added a special scene to their Love Actually sequel which showed Sarah happily married to Dempsey.

We don’t actually know his name so maybe Sarah actually marries Patrick Dempsey. Get in there, girl.
At first, it looks like poor Sarah is still lonely and still working late and missing out on an office romance with Chris.
However, her phone rings (same Nokia ringtone) and she answers it the same way she used to with her brother.

“Hello, darling,” she says. “Absolutely, I’m almost finished – how are you?”
“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be,” Patrick Dempsey replies on the other line
He’s rung her up just to say “I love you very much” and to mock the way she always answers.
“I just can’t resist the way you always always answer the phone, what are you doing?” Dempsey jokes.
Sarah replies: “I’m hanging up now, I’ll see you later.”
They chat back and forth for awhile to give us the warm and fuzzy feeling of contentment that Sarah got her happy ever after.
