Coronation Street‘s Catherine Tyldesley has revealed that she’d like to go on Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress spoke to OK! Magazine at her Corrie leaving party this week, having recently left the soap.
Tyldesley said: “I’ve been there for seven years and I think the fact that my sisters [Jane Danson, who plays Eva’s half-sister Leanne Battersby, and Georgia Taylor, who plays Leanne’s stepsister Toyah] were with me for my last scene made it even more emotional.”
Tyldesley added that it was a tough decision to make, given she lives 10 minutes away from the studio, her friends work there and it’s a secure job, but she’s keen to work on other projects.
“I knew I’d made the right decision because I felt excited. Leaving was the right decision for me and my family,” she said.
Asked what her plans are for the future, she replied: “I’ve started going to auditions and I’ve been put up for some really exciting jobs. I’d love to do a gritty drama, but I want to try as many genres as possible.
“I don’t watch much reality TV but the one show I do watch is Strictly Come Dancing. I adore it. That’s the only one I would possibly do.”
