The residents of Coronation Street have faced a terrifying week, with Pat Phelan escaping from Gary Windass and causing havoc.
Although the villain eventually faced a gruesome end when he was stabbed in the chest by Anna Windass, he first managed to shoot both Michelle Connor and his own daughter Nicola Rubinstein.
Nicola, who has just given birth to her and Gary’s son Zack, is set to recover from her horrific injuries but actress Nicola Thorp has revealed that Gary will have to face the consequences of his decision to bring Phelan back to the cobbles.
While speaking to Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards about what’s coming up for Nicola, the actress said: “Obviously the repercussions of everything that Phelan has done.
“She’s got to recover from a shoulder injury, she’s got a brand new baby boy as well.
“But also Gary brought Phelan back to the street that she lives on, so I think he’s got an awful lot to answer for himself.
“So we’ll see how that plays out in the coming weeks.”
The ITV soap was the big winner at the British Soap Awards, picking up six trophies including Best British Soap.
