Coronation Street‘s Tyrone Dobbs breaks down in tears tonight (March 9) as he recounts the awful abuse he suffered from his ex-partner Kirsty Soames.
Tyrone (Alan Halsall) reveals his old demons to his friend Gemma Winter as fears mount that Ruby could be turning into a mini-Kirsty.
In tonight’s Corrie double bill, Tyrone is left horrified when Ruby and Hope slip into the empty Underworld factory unnoticed.
A dangerous situation unfolds as the girls lock themselves into the factory office and start an electric saw that’s being used as part of the renovations.
Although Tyrone manages to get Ruby and Hope back safely, the incident forces him to come clean with Fiz about how Ruby’s behaviour is still badly out of control.
Stunned by Tyrone’s secrecy and fearing for Hope’s safety, Fiz makes a drastic decision and takes Hope off to live with her at Chesney’s house until further notice.
As Tyrone is left licking his wounds, he turns to Gemma for comfort – admitting that he’s even worried himself about the possibility of Ruby having an evil streak like Kirsty.
An emotional Tyrone then confides in Gemma about how Kirsty used to beat him up. This ultimately leads to them spending the night together, as Tyrone moves in for a kiss with Gemma and she responds passionately.
Will this be the end of Tyrone and Fiz’s relationship? She finds out all about Ty’s betrayal next week, so there won’t be too long to wait to see her reaction!
Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, recently told us: “[She’s] absolutely devastated. They have been though so much, and Fiz does say that. We have a lot of scenes where we talk about what Tyrone and Fiz went through to be together.
“She saw Tyrone at his most vulnerable with all the Kirsty stuff – and they got through that. She thought they were unbreakable, but that’s not the case.”
Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
