It seemed the lads had settled their differences when Tyler came into the cafe and said he would take what’s coming to him.

Tyler decided to "call it quits" by taking the sausages that were meant for Eccles in a barm.

But moments later the gang leader was seen putting the poisoned meat under the Barlow’s back gate.

The grinning psychopath waited in the ginnel to make sure that his devilish scheme went to plan.

Ken let Eccles out into the back yard – completely unaware of the danger his pet was in.

Eccles ran straight up to the sausages and started chomping on the poisoned snack.

Devastated Corrie viewers took to Twitter after watching Eccles get poisoned.

One viewer said: "Just when I thought Tyler couldn’t sink any lower. Trying to poison poor Eccles

"I’ve put up with a lot in coronation street over the years, but if anything happens to Eccles I may not be responsible for my actions," added another.

A third said: "I’m sorry but if Eccles dies I’m never watching Coronation Street ever again …."
