Dancing On Ice: Jake Quickenden’s partner could be REPLACED

Dancing On Ice: Jake Quickenden’s partner Vanessa Bauer could be set to be replaced on Sunday [ITV]

Dancing On Ice could see show favourite Jake Quickenden skating with a replacement partner after his current co-star Vanessa Bauer was struck down with norovirus.

The former The X Factor star is currently one of the favourites to win the ITV skating show, often topping the leaderboard thanks to his impressive routines.

But Jake’s chances in the competition could be thrown into jeopardy after his professional skating partner Vanessa fell ill.

It is thought that the duo had been planning on performing the much anticipated head banger move at the weekend, but their plans may now have to be shelved.

And while their rehearsals have been put on hold because of Vanessa’s illness, it is even thought that Jake could be given a free pass into the following week.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Vanessa has been diagnosed with Norovirus after being taken ill this week.

“The couple had planned on tackling the head banger this week but that’s now in jeopardy as they may not have enough time to train.

“Jake may even have to perform with a reserve partner or be given a free pass to next week’s show if the pair are unable to compete.”

Jake recently expressed his fears for his future on the show via a post on Instagram.

He wrote: “So we hit a road block at training as Vanessa has got the flu and I can’t come into contact with her for 72 hours.

“So we haven’t got a routine, I don’t know what I am going to do.

The drama comes just a week after love Island star Kem Cetinay found himself in a similar predicament after his partner Alex Murphy hurt her ankle.

Luckily, the duo sailed through to the next round while singer Lemar and his partner Melody found themselves eliminated from the competition.

However, the competition is set to get a whole lot tougher as Sunday sees a double elimination, with three stars competing in the skate-off.
