The BBC's schedule will be plunged into chaos as live sport takes over the TV.
The tournament in Russia kicks off on June 14 and soap bosses have been forced to change broadcast times to fit all the games in.
There's going to disruption for EastEnders viewers on Monday June 18 as the usual 7:30pm episode has been cancelled.
It has been replaced by an hour-long double bill, which will air from 9:25pm.
If that's not bad enough, there will be no episode at all on Tuesday June 19.
The soap's disruption will continue throughout the week, with the last two episodes on June 21 and 22, airing at 9:10pm.
It's not just EastEnders set to be moved around during the World Cup – soap fans will also miss episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Fans will still get their six episodes' worth of the two soaps, but there are nights when there will be no Corrie or Emmerdale at all.
The schedules make way for fewer, but longer shows.
Changes will be enforced from the week commencing Monday, June 18.
Both Corrie and Emmerdale will merge episodes into hour-long specials on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday that week.
Emmerdale will air for an hour at 7pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8pm.
The World Cup will continue to dominate time slots until the final game on July 15.
Schedule changes beyond June 22 will air next month.
