EastEnders' Max Branning gives Rainie a final warning over their baby scam

EastEnders‘ Max Branning will give his wife Rainie a final warning over their baby scam next week after she makes a big mistake.

Max (Jake Wood) has teamed up with his former sister-in-law Rainie to improve his chances of winning custody of his baby granddaughter Abi.

However, the pair’s sham will hit more obstacles in upcoming scenes as Max starts to fear that Rainie will actually end up hindering his custody chances instead of helping.

Another difficult week for Max kicks off with him giving Rainie a reality check on their situation – worried that people will cotton on to the fact that their marriage is a sham.

Taking his words on board, Rainie hosts a slap-up meal for Mel and Jack, but ends up infuriating Max further by trying too hard. But once alone, Rainie makes a move on a stunned Max and kisses him.

Fans will have to wait and see if Max responds to her advances, but either way, he reiterates his intentions the next day – reminding Rainie that their focus has to be getting custody of baby Abi and nothing else.

As Max seeks advice from Stacey about his relationship with Rainie, Donna is shocked to learn from Martin that they gave him a reference.

After confronting Martin, an angry Donna lashes out at Rainie and questions her ability to take care of a child.

Furious, Rainie decides to get revenge on Donna and hides some stolen cigarettes from the Minute Mart under her stall, before reporting her.

When Mr Lister arrives and finds the cigarettes, Donna realises she’s been set up and wastes no time in heading over to the Brannings’ to confront Rainie.

Thankfully for Rainie, Max is quick to jump to her defence and the pair put on a united front in front of Donna.

However, after Donna leaves, Max loses his temper with Rainie again – berating her for almost ruining their chances with Abi.

Fed up, Max warns Rainie that she won’t get a penny from him if she makes another mistake, but it’s not long before the duo are clashing in another heated argument. Will he call time on the sham?
