EastEnders: Mel Owen put pressure on Phil to come up with the heist money [BBC]
EastEnders’ Mel Owen left Phil Mitchell terrified as she threatened his son, Ben Mitchell’s life in a bid to track down the stolen heist money.
Albert Square’s latest arrival came face-to-face with Phil last week, when she revealed that his son had attempted to steal Aidan’s cash, and enlisted him to work with her to find the money so they could both save their children.
But after struggling to find the money thief, Mel put more pressure on Phil to come up with the goods, upping the anti and hinting that if he didn’t pull the cash together by the end of the day then she would throw his son, Ben, under the bus and tell murderous Aidan Maguire the truth about his actions.

A day after turning up at Phil’s house unannounced to question him about his progress, Tamzin Outhwaite’s character cornered him once again in the square, and said: “You’re not stupid Phil, and I think I proved yesterday that I’m not.
“Let’s put a deadline on it, shall we?
“The end of the day…dig your own grave, not Ben’s.”

As Mel walked away from the frosty encounter, Phil looked visibly shaken.
But what will he do to find the money in time? And if he doesn’t then what will happen to Ben?
Previously, Ciara Maguire threatened Mel Owen, claiming that her son Hunter would not be reunited with her unless she coughed up the stolen cash, explaining why she’s now resorted to such desperate measures.

Meanwhile on the BBC soap, as Aidan, Phil and Mel hunted for the thief, fingers pointed at Mick Carter, who had managed to pay off Fi Browning’s freehold money, and was celebrating.
As a furious Aidan questioned how Mick had suddenly had a payout, he set his men on him, and had him kidnapped.
But some fans were more concerned by the fact that the kidnapping took place in broad daylight.

Taking to social media, one viewer of the BBC soap wrote: “Yeah just kidnap someone in broad daylight… in the middle of the square… next to the market… brilliant writing #eastenders.”
While another added: “Kidnap in broad daylight, pub full of people but no one comes out to see and your wife at the window watching? #Eastenders.”
