It was recently revealed that a gas explosion is set to rip through Albert Square, leaving a path of destruction behind it and claiming the life of at least one main character.
The fatal blast will tear through the famous streets of EastEnders during the Walford in Bloom event, crowded with residents gathered to celebrate.
Families will be blown apart as lives hang in the balance following the blaze spiralling out of control, and now the channel have released two new pictures showing key characters in distress.
The Mitchells are left fearing for patriarch Phil – who only recently returned to the Square after a liver transplant – as Louise, Ben and Sharon realise that Steve McFadden’s character was close to the scene of the incident.

Meanwhile, Martin Fowler, played by James Bye, grows frantic as he searches for wife Stacey – who is pregnant – and fails to be able to locate the stunner, played by Lacey Turner.
Will the terrified residents be able to find their loved ones? Or has the horror fire already claimed its victim?
At the end of Friday’s episode, a brief teaser was revealed – the first sign of what is to come next month.
