Jack, played by Scott Maslen in the BBC One soap, has been trying – largely unsuccessfully – to woo Mel since she arrived back in Walford, but the blonde has kept her distance, mostly due to her teenage son Hunter’s disapproval.
The chemistry has been obvious though and those kind of intense feelings can only be kept bottled up for so long.
It all kicks off on Billy Mitchell’s birthday when Mel, actress Tamzin Outhwaite, loses her temper with him for messing up at work.
Jack and Woody watch the exchange and are left a bit stunned by the force of Mel’s anger towards Billy but she makes up for it later by announcing she plans to host a surprise party for him at the club.
She even hopes to get Billy’s ex Honey along to the bash to reunite them.
This backfires spectacularly though when the method she uses to try and persuade Honey to come to the party doesn’t work out.
A furious Billy then gives Mel a piece of his mind for interfering in his relationship.
Mel is left stunned by his angry outburst and storms off, followed by Jack who confronts her and tells her she needs to make things up to Honey.
The pair continue to argue but the tension soon gets too much and the next thing, they’re all over each other.
Eek. What will Hunter think when he finds out?
Which he clearly will because that’s how things happen in Walford.
