Danny Dyer may come across as a bit of a hardman – particularly in his EastEnders role as Mick Carter – but he’s let his soppy side out as he’s admitted that he’s missing his daughter.
Dani Dyer is currently entertaining us every night in the Love Island villa, but watching her on TV is making dad Danny wish he could see her in person again.
He tweeted a sweet message about his daughter, writing: “I know she’s doing well….holding her own and all that bollocks…but It’s gotta be declared…I proper miss my baby girl now… #firstborn #Dani #loveisland.”
His followers were soon praising Dani, with one commenting: “She is proper doin u proud mate brilliant role model for all girls,” and another writing: “you should be well proud for your daughter she’s so genuine and down to earth.”
Danny’s tweet came as Dani and her Love Island partner Jack Fincham made things official, with a nervous Jack asking Dani to be his girlfriend.
“I enjoy spending every day with you… I love waking up next to you,” he told her. “I ain’t felt like this in ages about someone.”
He added: “I do really want to be with you and obviously I want to walk out of here with you. And I want to, you know, be together.
“I want to be with someone so I wanted to know if you wanted to be my girlfriend.”
A delighted Dani said yes – and the whole villa celebrated by jumping into the pool together (one of the only times we’ve actually seen them get in it).
Of course, if Dani and Jack end up going all the way and getting into the final then Danny will likely be taking a trip over to the villa to meet the couple – and Jack’s boss reckons “Jack will love it, but he’ll be in a right flap too”.
We really hope their first meeting is caught on camera – especially after Danny joked that he was skydiving into the villa to confront Jack about an impression he did of him.
Love Island continues tonight (June 25) at 9pm on ITV2.
