During Friday nights dramatic episode of the ITV soap, the village villain’s death was confirmed in shocking scenes.
Emma Barton, played by Gillian Kearney, seemingly took her own life after appearing to jump off the viaduct on the latest instalment of Emmerdale.
But as her death was confirmed, viewers were left seriously confused as they noticed something odd on their screens.
Emma’s sons Ross and Pete were informed by a policeman that their mum had killed herself.

But as scenes showed Emma looking at the sky as she died, fans wondered if she was facing the wrong way.
Taking to Twitter, viewers speculated that she can’t have jumped as she would have been facing the ground.
Their theories add fuel to the predictions that Emma was in fact murdered by someone in the village.
Writing on the social media site, one fan noted: “Well she did fall facing the wrong way, so she didn’t jump she was pushed but was it accidental. Hmmm #Ross was it ? #NoReturn #Emmerdale”

Some fans have predicted that Emma’s son Ross could have murdered his mum after she accidentally shot and killed his younger brother Finn.
But others think a scene of Ross at the crime scene may all be a red herring, and that Gabby Thomas is the actual killer.

The pair have come to blows in recent weeks after the teen vowed to get revenge on Emma for manipulating her late dad Ashley over her dark secret – the fact she murdered husband James.
