Former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett insists she hasn't quit acting forever

Roxanne Pallett has revealed she hasn’t quit acting forever, despite previously expressing her wish to retire from the industry after ‘feeling under-appreciated’.

Last month, the former Emmerdale actress shared her struggles to get roles after leaving the soap in 2008, prompting her to turn her back on the profession and secure a new role as co-host of York’s Minster FM Breakfast Show.

“I have been told to lose weight, get Botox, and change my accent to get a casting,” she previously told the Daily Star on Sunday.

“I wasn’t prepared to do that. I don’t feel appreciated as an actress so I am quitting the industry.”

However, speaking this weekend, Roxanne said she has not quit acting but will focus on her broadcasting career temporarily.

“I haven’t quit acting,” she told Manchester Evening News. “I don’t quit anything.

“I know my worth and I follow my instinct. I’ll always be a performer at heart, but for now my focus is firmly on my broadcasting career for a new chapter.

“A happier chapter. Self worth comes before anything.”

Phew! We look forward to seeing you back on screens soon, Roxanne.
