Get Out is returning to theaters for free on President's Day

This month marks the one-year anniversary of Get Out, and in the past year, Jordan Peele’s thriller has become a cultural phenomenon, sparking nationwide dialogues about race, racking up four Academy Award nominations, and ensuring that no one will ever look at a teacup the same way again. To celebrate the film’s first birthday, Universal Pictures and Peele have announced free screenings on President’s Day, Feb. 19.

Peele shared a video on Twitter announcing the event, saying, “As a small thank you to the fans that made the film a success, Universal and I wanted to give something back.”

Get Out will screen for free at 7 p.m. at 55 AMC Theatres locations around the country. Tickets will be first-come, first-served and can only be picked up in person at the theater box office, the day of.

Since its release last year, Get Out has earned more than $255 million worldwide and earned four Oscar noms, including Best Picture and Best Director.
