Good Morning Britain: Arthur Collins’ acid attack victim breaks down

Good Morning Britain: A victim of Arthur Collins’ acid attack broke down in tears on Tuesday’s show [ITV]

The young woman was at Mangle E8 nightclub in April when the attack, which left two people partially blind and 22 injured, was carried out.

Speaking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain, Sophie Hall was reduced to tears as she relived the traumatic incident.

Sophie told the hosts how she was celebrating a friend’s 22nd birthday at the Dalston club when the acid was thrown.

Describing how the atmosphere was before the attack, Sophie said: “Everything was normal, there was nothing to indicate any accidents were going to happen.”

Reliving the terrifying moment she was hit in the face, she continued: “I was sitting down in my chair and it hit me in my face.It hit me with force – I moved so quickly it moved my chair back.”

Breaking down in tears, Sophie said: “I felt like I was on fire. It smelt so strongly of petrol.

“I was so shocked I didn’t really get a chance to think. It’s a pain that I can’t actually describe. It just burnt like I was on fire and I just wanted to stop it but I couldn’t.”

Describing the panic in the immediate aftermath of the attack, Sophie said: “I couldn’t see because it got me in my left eye, someone lifted me up and took me to the bathroom.

“It took quite a long time for the ambulance to get there and nobody really knew that the best thing to do was.”

Giving an update on how her injuries are almost six month after the attack, Sophie said: “I’ve got a scar on my shoulder that won’t leave me…it’s a risen purple-y scar.”

Speaking about the scars on her face she added: “They’ve got so much better and the treatment I’ve had has been phenomenal….even though other people can’t see, when I look in the mirror I can see them.”

When asked how she feels about Arthur Collins, Sophie began to cry as she said: “I don’t really know….I think he’s a…I don’t know how to answer that question….I’m pleased he’s going to be off the streets.”

Ferne McCann’s ex boyfriend has been found guilty of carrying out the attack at Mangle E8 nightclub .

Collins had previously admitted to throwing the liquid in the nightclub, but claims he didn’t know that it was acid.

The TOWIE star’s former flame was arrested in connection with the attack six days after it took place, on Saturday 22 April. 

His co-defendant, Andre Phoenix, was accused of helping him during the attack. Andre was found not guilty of all counts against him.
