Hollyoaks kicked off its shock sex abuse storyline tonight (April 16) as Brody Hudson made a harrowing confession about his past.
The Channel 4 soap recently confirmed that football coach Buster will abuse his position of power to groom Ollie Morgan, who was introduced as Luke’s teenage son two months ago.
However, tonight’s first look episode saw Brody confess to Luke’s ex-wife Scarlett that something bad happened to him as a child as well.
Having been persuaded to stay in the village by Damon, Brody shared a tense exchange with Buster – who was less than pleased about his decision.
With it clear that something more was going on, Brody’s troubles became increasingly apparent when he bumped into Scarlett later on.
After a failed attempt at getting passionate with her, Brody found himself confiding in Scarlett about his traumatic past.
Although Brody didn’t specifically mention Buster’s role in his abuse, we already know that he’s the person in question – with the closing moments of the episode showing Buster start to get close to an oblivious Ollie.
The Hollyoaks team have been working closely with the Survivors Manchester charity while creating this storyline. The charity previously consulted on John Paul McQueen’s male rape story in 2014.
