FOX may be the true villain of the 2018/19 TV cancellation season but it seems The CW wants to come in at a close second.
On Thursday (May 17), the network confirmed that three of the shows previously renewed for another season will all be coming to an end once their respective seasons have aired.
So iZombie, Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend fans, this is not a good day for you.
Alas, the news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to those who have been paying close attention to what’s been going on behind-the-scenes of their favourite The CW series.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator and star Rachel Bloom pretty much confirmed the show’s fourth season would be its last in a Twitter post earlier this year.
Similarly, there have been rumours that Jane the Virgin would come to an end for months now. So much so that fans were nervous the show would get canned before it could resolve its major season four cliffhanger.
Thankfully, the show was picked up for a fifth season earlier this month, with its star Gina Rodriquez already basically confirming season five to be the last.
Perhaps the most surprising of the cancellations is that of iZombie, which was renewed for its fifth season five days ago.
The show is still running on The CW, with its season four finale to air in a few weeks time.
iZombie, Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend air on The CW in the US.
