A new trailer has come along for the anticipated 3D recreation of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, along with some commentary from James Cameron – and it has got us all super hyped to finally see it in the cinema.
“The images feel more real in 3D,” explains Cameron in the clip. “There’s a lucidity to it – you really feel like you’re there.
“I’ve been looking at the film as we’re completing the 3D… and it looks pretty spectacular.”
“We’re talking about twenty-five years later,” says Cameron. “A lot of fans of the movie weren’t even born when it was made. So, for a lot of people, it will just be the thrill of seeing it in a movie theatre.”
James Cameron has been considering converting the film into 3D for years, saying in 2014 that they weren’t “ruling it out”, while in 2015 he went further and made the announcement that the 3D conversion was actually happening.
It’s ultimately coming along a year later than the 25th anniversary of the original film, when it was originally planned to come out, but we aren’t complaining.
“If you’ve never seen it, this’ll be the version you want to see and remember,” said Cameron when the news was originally announced.
And there’s not very long to wait now until this three-dimensional recreation comes to UK cinemas, as it arrives on August 25th, 2017.
Now we just have to start saving up for the mountain of high-priced snacks that we’ll haul into the screening with us.
