Following the recent news that Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy are all returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, McAvoy has now teased his character, Professor X.
Alongside an Instagram video on McAvoy holding an electric razor, he wrote: “He approaches. #charlesxavier #xmen #darkphoenix”.

Hopefully his character actually needs to be bald for this film – remember when he shaved his head for X-Men: First Class before finding out that Professor X wasn’t bald yet?
Meanwhile, the core cast of the upcoming X-Men movie – which is director Simon Kinberg’s adaptation of the iconic X-Men comics story The Dark Phoenix Saga – will also bring back Nicholas Hoult as Dr Hank McCoy (aka The Beast), according to Deadline.
X-Men veterans Lawrence, McAvoy, Fassbender and Hoult will join forces once again with Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler) — all of whom were introduced in last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse.

Just as exciting is news (via The Hollywood Reporter) that The Martian‘s Jessica Chastain is in talks to play the X-Men adversary Lilandra, queen of the alien species known as the Shi’ar.
Dark Phoenix – the fourth in the “next generation” series following First Class, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse – will follow Josh Boone’s X-Men spin-off New Mutants (April 13, 2018) and Deadpool 2 (June 1, 2018), arriving on November 2, 2018.
