If you weren’t looking forward to the second season of Luke Cage, then you should be now – because none other than Lucy Liu is set to direct its first episode.
According to Buzzfeed News, Lucy will be following up her previous directorial efforts with the season two premiere of the hit Marvel Television and Netflix series.
Liu has already directed four episodes of Elementary, which she also stars in, as well as an episode of Graceland and the short film, Meena.

Although we’ll next catch a glimpse of hero for hire Luke Cage in the upcoming series The Defenders, Luke Cage was also officially confirmed for a second solo outing last year.
Which wasn’t exactly surprising, considering how much of a hit the adaptation was with both fans and critics alike.
Season two – which is welcoming two brand new characters – kicked off filming a few months ago, or at least that’s what eagle-eyed fans seem to think.
Several signs were spotted in New York City back in April that marked off filming areas for Tiara, which is the cryptic codename Netflix uses for Luke Cage when in production.
The more you know!
Our next meeting with Cage, along with Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist – The Defenders – will be available to stream on Netflix from August.
