Following his breakout role in last year’s Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther is set to become one of the biggest superheroes around.
Not only is he getting his own Marvel Cinematic Universe solo movie next year, he’s appearing in Avengers: Infinity War AND he’s getting his own LEGO movie, titled Trouble in Wakanda.
Now don’t get too excited, this isn’t going to be a full-fledged cinematic release like The LEGO Batman Movie, The LEGO Ninjago Movie or The LEGO Movie.
There are plenty of direct to DVD/digital films starring the miniature brick versions of your favourite Marvel and DC superheroes, just take a look on Netflix, Amazon and the like.
Trouble in Wakanda was announced at New York Comic Con by Marvel’s head of Animation, Cort Lane. And, uh… that’s it.
There’s no plot or release date, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if it comes out around the same time as the live-action movie.
Michael B Jordan, who will play baddie Erik Killmonger in Black Panther, has compared the relationship between his character and Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa as similar to Professor Xavier and Magneto from X-Men.
Well, both duos have an ‘Eric/Erik’…
Next up for Marvel, of course, is Thor: Ragnarok, which releases in the United Kingdom on October 24 and in the United States on November 3. You can watch the trailer right here.
