Miranda Hart has taken to social media to silence rumours her much-loved BBC sitcom will return to the small screens for a fourth series in the future.
The humorous female tweeted: “Don’t know where this came from, it’s news to me. Have thought about it but that’s all. And how many times – wasn’t ill was busy elsewhere.
“To confirm … I don’t know where it came from that there’s a new series of Miranda. I write & play her & she’s still on honeymoon! (sic).”

The 45-year-old comedian’s eponymous programme first aired in 2009 and was an instant success as the series won big at major awards ceremonies, including the Royal Television Society awards for three years from 2009.
The final episode of the show in 2015 saw Miranda and her on-screen lover Gary Preston – who is played by Tom Ellis – jet off into the sunset after they tied the knot.
Although the star has insisted Miranda is not set to get a follow up, she is ‘glad’ fans support her and are keen to see her reunite with fellow co-stars for another instalment.

“Am glad people like the idea of us doing more. Gary and alter ego are still in the first flush, we need to give them some space!! (sic)”
While the former ‘Call the Midwife’ actress has ruled out any follow ups, she has been ‘thinking’ about a comeback.
A spokesperson for the BBC told the Mail Online: “[It is] something she has been thinking about [but] there are currently no set plans in place.”

The television personality left her loyal social media followers devastated with her recent posts.
One social media user replied: “Oh no I got so excited please please say it’s true (sic)”.
This news comes shortly after The Sun newspaper announced the Annie: The Musical star reported a sequel was in the works.
