Returning Neighbours star Ben Hall has revealed some new information about his character Ned Willis’s comeback to Erinsborough.
The actor took the time to reply to some fans who wanted to know if he was just reappearing as a guest star again, and it’s good news: he’s here to stay!
Ben’s Ramsay Street alter ego Ned first popped up in 2016, with his storylines including his complex relationship with his dad Brad, his attraction to Brad’s eventual wife Lauren, and his on-off relationship with Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta).
Ned left town in early 2017 after accepting a job on the Gold Coast, but it seems that hasn’t worked out – as something brings him back to Erinsborough permanently.
And the news that he’s sticking around means an interesting time for both Elly and Ned’s family members on Ramsay Street – including his half-sister Piper (Mavournee Hazel) and his former stepmum Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou).
UK viewers will be able to see Ned from Wednesday, June 20 and he will be involved in trouble almost from the outset – finding himself “embroiled in an altercation with a local”.
“It’s really nice to back around familiar faces and also some new ones and pick up where the character left off,” Hall commented. “Ned is very complex, which makes him interesting and a lot of fun to play.”
Ben’s return to Neighbours was announced on Friday, when the show also confirmed the arrival of new character Cassius the gardener (Joe Davidson) – who will be ruffling feathers as well as trimming bushes on Ramsay Street.
Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm.
