If there’s one thing Piers Morgan is not very good at, it’s
allowing his guests to speak during interviews, taking losing to BBC Breakfast in the ratings with any dignity impressions.
The host donned a blonde wig on today’s (June 13) Good Morning Britain to mimic Love Island’s Georgia Steel in a moment (which you can watch here) that was absolutely hilarious. At least, it was to Piers.
After producers played a two second clip of Georgia playing with her hair and saying “you need to be strong, babes,” Piers demanded it be played again so that he could copy it.
The joke was on him as the clip took too long to play, leaving Susanna Reid and Richard Arnold looking really awkward and embarrassed.
It got worse when the clip did play, and Piers followed up by repeating Georgia’s line, while sounding like a grandmother from a completely different part of the country.
Still, at least Piers found it funny…
He previously called the ITV2 reality show “Brain-dead TV for sex-crazed, money-grabbing, amoral wastrels” and said that “I can’t deal with this, how long is this on for?”
About another six and half weeks, in fact, Morgs.
And Piers is probably going to have to cover the previous night’s gossip every day he works on GMB. We wonder how much more of the “wastrels” he can take… especially when they get presenting jobs alongside him.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6:30am on ITV, while Love Island airs nightly on ITV2 from 9pm.
