Ruti, Lauren, Donel and Belle Voci are through to The Voice UK final

The finalists of The Voice UK have been chosen after tonight’s live semi-final performances.

We saw Jamie, Lucy, Tai, Gayatri, Belle Voci, Ruti, Donel and Lauren all perform, and after weeks of chair spinning the eight contestants were whittled down to just four.

We had previously been told what the contestants would be singing, so there were no surprises there.

For Team Tom, Lucy Milburn performed Ariana Grande’s ‘One Last Time’ while Ruti sung ‘Waiting for a Star to Fall’ by Boy Meets Girl.

On Team Olly, Lauren Bannon covered ‘In the Air Tonight’ by Phil Collins and Jamie Grey sung ‘Say Something’ by Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton.

Tai of Team Will covered Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’, while Donel Mangena performed Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’.

And on Jennifer Hudson’s team Belle Voci did a Classical Crossover version of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’, while Gayatri Nair perform ed Sia’s ‘Alive’

After the public’s votes were tallied, we found out that Ruti Olajugbagbe, Lauren Bannon, Donel Mangena, and Belle Voci were through to the final.

And there was still time for a performance from Mo Jamil, who sung ‘That Feeling’.

It’s not been a bad week for Donel, who has also apparently been invited to perform for the actual Queen’s actual 92nd birthday.

The Voice UK airs on ITV.
