Ryan Reynolds’ incarnation of Deadpool was already one of our favourite MCU superheroes, but his latest gift to young fans has made us love him even more.
In a recent post on Instagram, Ryan shared images of young cancer patients who had visited the set of Deadpool 2 and had even been gifted their very own sword.
(Not the “stabby-stabby” kind, don’t worry.)
Paying tribute to the kids who ‘kick cancer in the taint every day’, Ryan thanked the Make a Wish and Wish Foundation charities for making children’s, and their parents’, dreams come true while they fight the disease.
It’s nothing short of a heartwarming story, but some fans took it upon themselves to wring their hands over the idea of welcoming young children into the R-rated life of Deadpool.
Unsurprisingly, the Merc with a Mouth himself wasn’t having any of it, and swiftly responded with his “.02 cents” to a commenter who’d written: “Guys deadpool is R rated movie and those kids are watching it… I think something is wrong here.”
“Yup. Deadpool is Rated R,” he wrote. “If my kid went through a fraction of the shit these kids deal with daily, I think they can watch whatever they like.”

And to be fair to the Deadpool 2 team, they have actually rebranded the upcoming sequel’s working title for reshoots as ‘Daisy‘.
With an innocent-sounding, delicate name like Daisy, there can’t be that much R-rated activity going on. Right, guys..?
Deadpool 2 will hit cinemas on May 16, 2018 in the UK and on May 18, 2018 in the US.
