Saturday Night Takeaway: Little Ant and Dec quit show

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s mini-mes have been a fixture on the Saturday Night Takeaway since 2003 where James Pallister and Dylan McKenna-Redshaw took on the roles as the miniature versions of the TV presenting duo.

However, they left ten years later in 2013 and were replaced by Neil Overend and Haydn Reid who have been in their respective hilarious roles since then.

But the cheeky duo, who have interviewed a whole host of famous faces during their time on the show, have now decided to stop.

According to Digital Spy, Neil and Haydn have outgrown their mini-me roles and want to focus on their education with Neil moving on to high school and Haydn preparing for his SATS.

Unlike previous years where Little Ant and Dec have been replaced, the decision has reportedly been made to not continue with the search to find a new pair.

Whilst fans will no doubt be upset over the end of Little Ant and Dec, the show’s format will continue to be the same with the return of Scarlett Moffatt.

Following her win on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, the former Gogglebox star landed a presenting role on Ant and Dec’s show.

With preparations under way for the new series, Scarlett recently spoke about her close bond to Ant and Dec.

Teasing details of the new series, the TV star told OK! Magazine: “Kylie Minogue is performing on the first show. It’s going to be fun!

“It’s like a big family at ITV, with Ant and Dec and Stephen Mulhern, hair and make-up – everyone. Every week I learn something new.”

“Anything can happen on live TV so you just take it as it comes. It’s like university for TV!”

Praising Scarlett, Dec previously told The Sun: “We loved Scarlet so much! Scarlet is brilliant she hit the ground running.

“She brought a real wit and charm to the show that was sadly lacking. She brought this lovely female presence and we loved having her. As soon as we worked with her on I’m A Celebrity we wanted her.”
