Good news for fans of comic-book heroes who probably don’t need movies but are getting one anyway, Sony has given Silver and Black a release date.
The movie, which will focus on the Spider-Man characters Silver Sable (a mercenary) and Black Cat (an antihero and occasional love interest), will hit cinemas on February 8, 2019.

That’s not the only film that Sony has shuffled around – Entertainment Weekly reports that Barbie, Sicario 2 (aka Soldado), Holmes and Watson, and Bad Boys 3 have all had updates.
Let’s get the bad(?) news out of the way first: Bad Boys 3 no longer has a release date. Director Joe Carnahan departed the project back in March.
Has the film been cancelled, or do Sony not want to commit to a release date until everything is in order? It’s anyone’s guess at this stage.
It marks the fourth time that the Bad Boys 3 release date has been pushed back – and the last delay also saw a scheduled fourth movie in the franchise dropped from Sony’s release schedule entirely.
Maybe we shouldn’t be holding our breath waiting for that big Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reunion then.
Meanwhile, Soldado, the sequel to 2015 hit Sicario, is due for release June 29, 2018, although the original’s star Emily Blunt won’t be back.
That has pushed the live-action Barbie movie (which still doesn’t have a leading actress) to a date of August 8, 2018 while the Will Ferrell and John C Reilly-vehicle Holmes and Watson is dated November 9, 2018.
The first film in Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off universe is the Tom Hardy-starring Venom, which is looking at a release date of October 5, 2018.
