Remember all that talk about a Fear the Walking Dead crossover with Abraham Ford last year?
Of course, that never happened – Morgan Jones (Lennie James) was the crossover character, it turned out – but eagle-eyed fans were treated to a really neat Abe Easter egg in Fear the Walking Dead‘s midseason finale.
As spotted by somebody on Reddit (link here), a look at Althea’s (Maggie Grace) tapes reveal that she seemingly interviewed Abraham and Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) before the duo met Rosita and later on Rick’s gang.
One of her tapes is labeled “Abe/Doctor”, and Ian Goldberg, one of the showrunners, confirmed that this was an intentional nod.
“If you look closely, some of those names might ring a bell if you’re a fan of the Walking Dead universe. You might get excited about some of the stories she’s captured,” he said (via ComicBook.com).
Talking Dead presenter Chris Hardwick added: “It’s just a nice Easter egg that shows how connected the universe is.
“I don’t know if we’re ever actually going to see what was on this tape, but it is a fantastic way to see that the worlds are still connected.”
Fear the Walking Dead‘s midseason finale also finally revealed Madison Clark’s (Kim Dickens) fate – and the fan theories were right, she did die in the flashback timeline.
Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on AMC on BT TV in the UK.
