Disney has given us a brand spanking new look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with a first glimpse at new characters and creatures.
In a behind-the-scenes clip which premiered at the D23 Expo, the stars tell us more about what it’s like working with Episode 8’s director Rian Johnson, with Daisy Ridley (who plays Rey) saying he has crafted a story that is “unexpected by right”.
And John Boyega, who stars as Finn, adds that the story “is being shifted in the opposite way to what the audience expected” after The Force Awakens.
We also get to hear from Star Wars cast members including Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill and Kelly Marie Tran.
The three-minute clip also gives us a look at a range of new characters, including Laura Dern’s Vice Admiral Holdo and some new creatures too – especially an adorable, penguin-like animal.
The preview ends on a emotional note with the late Carrie Fisher, the actress declaring: “It’s about family, and that’s what’s so powerful about it.”
Following Fisher’s death last year, it was revealed that the plot for the film has not been changed. However, General Leia was meant to be the hero of Episode 9.
The much-awaited first trailer for The Last Jedi finally hit the web a few months ago, with a look at Rey wielding a lightsaber.
And we should expect plenty of lightsaber action in this movie too, with the new clip teasing Adam Driver training as Kylo Ren for a big one-on-one battle.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released in cinemas on December 15.
