Strictly Come Dancing: Aston Merrygold has teased Brian Conley could be godfather to his unborn baby [BBC]
The JLS star announced the exciting news that he’s expecting his first child with pregnant girlfriend Sarah Richards earlier this year.
Aston Merrygold revealed to fans that he’s going to be a father shortly after training began for his stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
Since starting the show the singer has struck up an unlikely friendship with comedian Brian Conley.
And after joking that the couple will name their baby after Brian, Aston has now revealed that he might be godfather instead.

Appearing on It Takes Two on Friday night, Aston chatted to host Zoe Ball about his plans for his unborn child.
Quizzing Aston on his promise that the baby will be called Brian, Zoe grilled the star on whether he was standing by the statement.
Shifting in his seat, Aston admitted that his girlfriend Sarah may not be keen on the idea.
“Maybe not…Brian is…maybe he could be godfather or something? There’s some sort of role for Brian!” he revealed.

Just last week on Strictly, Aston was left red-faced after Claudia Winkleman called him out on a joke he made about not getting enough sleep.
After his routine with Janette Manrara, Claudia asked Aston if we was feeling the effects of the intense training.
He replied: “Yeah! Obviously not slept too much cause the missus has got his new pillow so it’s comfortable for her so there’s not much room on the bed.”
“Oh I’m so sorry, he’s tired!” Claudia sarcastically sympathised as Aston clarified: “I’m only joking by the way!”

“And also you’re not making a human, so….sorry you’re not getting enough sleep,” Claudia retorted as Aston and Janette burst into laughter.
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday night on BBC One.
