Strictly judge reveals new fitness regime after second hip operation

PG Tips isn’t monkeying around with its brand’s new face – Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood.

The acid-tongued star replaces the much-loved primate as Head of Taste and ambassador.

Craig, 53, said: “I am quite difficult to please and a man of taste.

“I drink too much tea.

"I have about 10 cups a day.

"If I had caffeine all the time I’d be rattling around like a maniac so PG Tips’ new decaf is absolutely excellent.”

Craig is recovering from a second hip operation – but won’t be sitting around stewing.

“I’ll be dancing about in a couple of weeks,” he said.

“I’m doing aqua aerobics every day. The op was a huge success. I’m now double titanium, which is fantastic. I had to deal with pain for eight months but now I am pain-free with a new lease of life.

“I was in the West End doing Annie, dancing to Easy Street in heels and corset. It was agonising.”

Craig has signed up for the new series of Strictly.

He confirmed the judging panel for the 16th series of the Saturday night BBC hit show will remain as it was last year with him, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and head judge Shirley Ballas.

“I think it is a great team and it was really good last year, I can’t wait to get back into it,” he said.

Loved-up with horticulturist Jonathan Myring, 31, Craig says his boyfriend has transformed home.

“My house is now overrun with plants. I had fake ones and the first thing he said was, ‘They’ve got to go.’ We’re very happy.”
