Tamara Ecclestone says she is ‘proud’ of breastfeeding her four-year-old daughter.
The socialite has been criticised on social media for continuing to breastfeed Sophia.
But Tamara insists it helps them "reconnect" and settles her daughter down at the end of the day.
Bernie Ecclestone’s daughter told the Loose Women panel that she only gives Sophia the boob at bed time.
The 34-year-old, who is married to Jay Rutland, lets her daughter sleep in bed with her and her husband.
Speaking on Loose Woman, she said: "In the beginning I posted a picture my husband took on holiday. I didn’t think a photo of me breastfeeding Fifi would case any outrage it was just a pretty picture.
"Then I knew going forward posting pictures would cause a reaciton. I was happy about that in a way. I had so many people come up to me and say ‘thank you’."
Tamara says breastfeeding Sophia is now part of her bedtime routine and helps her settle down.
On when she breastfeeds, she said: "No it’s only at bed time. It’s her bedtime routine. We do bathtime, then we read four stories every night, then she has the boob.
"She falls asleep. That’s her way, she doesn’t have a dummy or a bottle to comfort her."
The special guest Loose Women panelist did confess that she has been trying to reduce how much she breastfeeds Sophia.
It was previously reported that Tamara wants to get her off the boob by the age of four-and-a-half.
She added: "It’s something that’s happening less and less. It’s not even every night. It’s not in the daytime anymore.
"I think for her it’s her way to settle at the end of the day. No one has to see it. I think it’s our way to reconnect and it’s our quiet time at the end of the day."
