Ant McPartlin was reduced to TEARS as he opened up on a ‘tough 12 months’ and thanked his family and friends for helping him ‘get through’.
The Geordie duo picked up the awards for best Challenge Show for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and the first Bruce Forsyth award for Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant admitted he was ‘shaking’ as he headed to the stage for a third time to pick up the award for TV Presenter with best pal Declan Donnelly.
After getting a comforting hug from Dec, who said this award ‘means more this year than any other year’, Ant admitted it had been a ‘very emotional night’.
"Thank you so much, I’m shaking," said an emotional Ant.
"It’s been a very emotional night tonight. It’s been quite a year, quite a 12 months, so winning this tonight means quite a lot.
"I’d personally like to thank all my friends and family, some of you are here tonight, for all your support."
"Thank you little guy," he added before giving Dec another massive hug.
Taking to the stage, ‘happy and healthy’ looking Ant thanked his family, but failed to directly mention estranged wife Lisa Armstrong.
Speaking after his first award win, Ant said: "Thank you very much. We love making I’m A Celebrity. Thank you for loving it too. We want to make it forever."
Dec added: "Huge thank you to everyone who voted for us, ITV for their continued support, and the class of 2017. Everybody thank you so much for this very small award."
Wilnelia Forsyth gave the first Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award to Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
In an emotional speech, she said: “I wish I wouldn’t have to be here standing here in front of you but I a proud and so honoured that this special award is named after my darling Bruce.
“I know he would have loved it because showbusiness was his life. I also know if he was here this evening he’d be saying ‘it’s nice to see you, to see you nice’.”
Picking up the prize after Wilnelia announced them as winners, Ant said: “It is an honour to pick this up, We started filming for Saturday night Takeaway today and we also started filming a little tribute to Sir Bruce.”
Dec added: “We appeared on this very stage with Sir Bruce and it was one of the highlights of our career we are thrilled and honoured to win this. This one’s for you Brucie!
Tonight’s glittering awards ceremony came with a tinge of awkward for Ant – as he was up against estranged wife Lisa Armstrong.
Ant, who along with Dec was up for four gongs this evening, attended his first red carpet event since leaving rehab for his highly publicised dependence on prescription pills following a botched knee operation.
To make matters even more tense, both Strictly and The X Factor were up for best Talent Show gongs – as well as Britain’s Got Talent – so Ant and Lisa went head-to-head for that particular award.
There were concerns that Lisa, who split from Ant earlier this month after an 11-year marriage, may have attended in her role as Strictly Come Dancing’s highly esteemed make-up artist.
As is usual when a big show wins, the whole cast, presenters and backstage staff troop up on stage to bask in the applause – so Ant may could have found himself either clapping for his ex, or forced to look at her from the stage.
It comes after Ant and Dec managed to crash the NTA website last night after pleading for fans to vote for them in tonight’s awards.
They were up for Best Presenter against Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and Bradley Walsh.
Their show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was up for best Challenge Show against Love Island , Masterchef and The Great British Bake Off.
And they wonr best Talent Show for both The X Factor and BGT against Strictly and The Voice UK.
The final win was for Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which fell into the newly named Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, which got a rebranding in honour of the late Brucie.
