Tessa Thompson has revealed several actresses from the current Marvel Cinematic Universe asked Marvel President Kevin Feige directly for an all-female Avengers movie.
And the good news is, Kevin Feige actually said yes.
(But he also said yes to a Black Widow movie several years ago, so take that news with a grain of salt, lady Avenger fans.)

During a press conference for Marvel’s next movie Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa – who plays Valkyrie in the movie – revealed an encounter she had with Feige recently.
“Recently, I marched up with a couple of other women that work in Marvel and we went to Kevin, ‘What about a movie with some female super heroes?'” she said (via io9) . “‘Like all of them?’
“There’s a precedent for it in the comics, right? With teams like Lady Liberators?”
The Lady Liberators are an all-female superhero team quietly put together by the Enchantress that includes Wasp, Black Widow and Scarlet Witch.
It just so happens that all these characters exist within the modern day MCU – so how about it Kevin?
“It was a pretty amazing moment to be somewhere and have your shoulder get tapped and turn around [and see that] every female hero we have is standing there going, ‘How about it?'” Feige added.
“And I said, ‘Yes.'”
Yay! It doesn’t mean it will definitely happen, but we can hope, right?
Also one to add in his piece was Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, who offered up the title The Fevengers.
Mmm, that name needs some work but we’re digging the concept – great work, Tessa!
Thor: Ragnarok is released on October 24 in the UK and November 3 in the US – and it’s already received the praise of Guardian of the Galaxy director James Gunn too, so you know it’s going to be good.
