Thor: Ragnarok‘s release date is very close now, but a new teaser has revealed a surprising change seems to have been made to the movie.
Previous trailers have shown Thor (Chris Hemsworth) confronting the death goddess Hela (Cate Blanchett) in an alleyway, where somehow she is able to catch his hammer Mjolnir and shatter it.
The latest teaser shows the same scene, but now it is set not in a city but an open green field instead.
The assumption had been that Thor encounters Hela on Earth while looking for his missing father, Odin. So what happened? Are some last-minute changes to the film afoot?
The short teaser reveals some extra footage not seen before, including Thor sat on the throne of Asgard, as well as some extra fight sequences.
The film sees Thor captured and forced to fight in an arena on an alien planet, leaving Asgard undefended from Hela’s invasion.
Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum and Anthony Hopkins also star in the movie.
Thor: Ragnarok will be released on October 24 in the UK and November 3 in the US.
