Don’t Tell the Bride has given us some memorable moments over the years (and across the various channels), but never has an idea looked so terrible but gone so well as it did today.
Yes, after this evening’s (April 16) Don’t Tell the Bride Ireland, viewers were left stunned when groom-to-be Jamie spent €1,500 on a wedding dress only to immediately destroy it.
In a bid to pay tribute to the place where he and fiancée Nikki met – dating website Plenty of Fish – Jamie decided to dye his future wife’s dress bright blue. Himself.
Unsurprisingly, viewers were left reeling by Jamie’s decision to dye a perfectly nice wedding dress blue – but, surprisingly, Nikki absolutely loved the “really unique” dress.
“AS IF,” one tweeter shouted as they watched Jamie’s unconventional dye job unfold, while another viewer said they ‘felt sick’ watching the dress change colour.
We’re not sure if the blue wedding dress is a trend that will catch on in future, but credit where credit’s due: at least Jamie nailed the something new and something blue tradition.
Watching someone chuck an expensive gown in a vat of boiling water isn’t the most shocking thing to have happened on E4’s new run of Don’t Tell the Bride, as earlier this year fans witnessed a series-first when one couple failed to get married.
Craig and Sofia reluctantly said their vows at an Oktoberfest-themed ceremony in the show’s episode – though they never actually made it legal.
At the end of the show, E4 told viewers: “At the time of making this programme Craig and Sofia had decided not to make their wedding legal and were working together on their relationship.”
Don’t Tell the Bride Ireland continues at 9pm next Monday (April 23) on E4.
