Congratulations to Walking Dead star Christian Serratos, who has announced that she has given birth to her first child.
The actress shared an adorable snap of herself with the newborn – on Mother’s Day in the US, no less – on Instagram:
Serratos and musician boyfriend David Boyd have been in a relationship for three years now.
While they are enjoying being parents for the first time, fans will no doubt be turning their attention to how this will affect Serratos’s appearance as Rosita Espinosa on The Walking Dead.
The show is shooting its eighth season right now, and given production started at the end of April, it’s safe to say that they’re probably a couple of episodes in.
Could this mean that Rosita will be out of action for as much as the first half of season eight?
The Walking Dead already has Rosita’s absence explained. In the season seven finale ‘The First Day of the Rest of Your Life’, Rosita was shot in the gunfight between Rick Grimes’ army and the Saviors and Scavengers alliance.
She was seen in bed recuperating – the bullet wound was not fatal.
Alanna Masterson had a baby in November 2015 (when filming for season six was wrapping up), and was written out for several episodes in the back-end of season six and the start of season seven, with her character Tara going on a two-week supply run with Heath.

When she returned to the show, she had a whole episode dedicated to her detailing what happened on her travels when she encountered a new community called Oceanside.
The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
