A fourth New York City child has died from flu-related complications, police sources said Sunday.
The 5-year-old girl was found unresponsive in her Canarsie home Saturday, according to the source.
The child was discovered in the bathroom by her mother and rushed to Brookdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The girl had been battling a high fever and tested positive for the flu virus, said the same source.
The Health Department Friday confirmed that three other children have died of flu-related illnesses in the past week, including an 8-year-old Queens girl.
More than 100 pediatric deaths from influenza have been reported nationally this flu season.
