Canada PM Justin Trudeau’s kids help to win over Indian leader Narendra Modi during foreign visit

THIS is the moment Justin Trudeau’s cute kids steal the limelight as they win over Narendra Modi during a ceremonial reception in New Delhi.

The Indian leader seemed particularly charmed by Trudeau's youngest son, Hadrien Trudeau, fondly touching the little boy's face as he greeted the family at the Presidential Palace today.

And it appears the feeling was mutual, with another shot showing Hadrien giggling away as he reaches up to shake Modi's hand.

The Canadian PM was accompanied by wife Sophie Gregoire, who opted for a floral trouser suit for the occasion, and their other son Xavier and daughter Ella-Grace.

Earlier Trudeau and Modi embraced on the red carpet outside the palace as they met for the first time during the Canadian leader's first official visit to India, which has been far from smooth.

Canada caused upset earlier in the week by inviting an alleged Sikh extremist to an official dinner – an invite it later revoked.

But the Canadian PM has thrown himself into the visit, including by performing an impromptu Bhangra dance.

Both countries have denied speculation that the Canadian PM has received a lukewarm reception in India.

On many occasions Modi has received visiting government leaders at the airport.

But he initially welcomed Trudeau on Twitter, a day before the two were scheduled to meet.

The leaders finally met six days after Mr Trudeau arrived in India, and signed a raft of agreements reiterating Indo-Canadian ties.
