Luke Evangelou says he has been ‘bullying’ the actor online to get him to sign his ‘ridiculous’ inking – but Adam Woodyatt has so far ignored his desperate pleas
Luke Evangelou, 24, who doesn’t watch the soap, says his girlfriend and nan thought the inking was a “stupid” idea.
Luke Evangelou says he got a tattoo of Ian Beale’s crying face despite not even watching EastEnders
His girlfriend Hayley says his new inking is ‘ridiculous’
But he still pressed ahead with the bizarre tat and has been “bullying” soap star Adam Woodyatt online ever since, in a desperate bid to get him to sign it.
Yet despite his efforts, which have included sending him daily pictures of the tattoo and calling him Ian, he has so far been ignored by the actor.
Luke said he was inspired to get the inking after accidentally seeing the infamous crying episode back in 2014.
He finally got the highly-detailed tat done on August 9 this year – but confesses that both his girlfriend and his elderly patients think it’s stupid.
Luke, from Peterborough, in Cambridgeshire, said: “I thought it would be funny. It doesn’t bother me that it’s on me for life. I remember watching that episode and I thought he looked funny.
“I don’t really watch EastEnders but I know that episode. I wondered how many takes it took.
“It is such an ugly crying face. The other actor must have been p**sing himself.
The tattoo was done in honour of an infamous episode of EastEnders which saw Ian Beale crying to his enemy Phil Mitchell
“Once I had it I thought it would be funny to go on Twitter to get the actor’s attention. I’m sending the picture to him every day. When it finished at midnight that’s when I started messaging him.
“Everyone knows the episode and the face. I want him to see it and then sign the tattoo and then I will get that tattooed as well.
“He has no reason to be bullied by me. I call him Ian on Twitter even though I know he’s called Adam but he’s not even acknowledging it.
“If he sees it and hates it then at least he would have seen it. It is just a bit of a joke that got out of hand.”
Luke claims that he has around 20 tattoos including a Back to the Future-themed inking but also admits he hates getting them done.
His girlfriend, Hayley, 25, says she thinks this tattoo is ‘ridiculous’ but claims she isn’t mad at him and is impressed with how detailed it is.
Luke said: “I’ve been wanting to get this tattoo ever since the episode aired. The tattooist is quite a serious artist so I didn’t think he would do it but he was up for it.
Luke has been repeatedly tweeting the actor Adam Woodyatt, asking him to sign his leg so he can get that tattooed too
“I’ve put a lot of thought into this. It’s such a stupid tattoo but it’s been done good. It isn’t just a s**t tattoo. He made it really highly detailed. It was so much effort.
“My girlfriend thinks it’s stupid but she didn’t even react. She wasn’t mad but I’ve had a disgusting reaction from everyone else.
“A lot of people hate it but Facebook isn’t real so if people I don’t know comment on it and hate it I don’t know them so it’s just funny.
“It’s got more attention than I deserve the artist deserves the recognition.
“My nan finds it hilarious but her husband thinks it’s disgusting. I care for the elderly and a lot of them don’t like it.”
Hayley, also a carer for the elderly, said: “I thought it was ridiculous obviously but it doesn’t really surprise me. It is really well done. It is really detailed.”
