THIS is the chilling moment a cyclist encounters a suspected "spice zombie" while travelling home at 2am.
The man was travelling back from a family member's house in the early hours of August 28 with his sister when he heard something on Midsummer Common, Cambridge.
He told The Sun Online: "I began hearing someone shout, and they were saying 'mummy, mummy, help, help'.
"Me and my sister cycled past, but I went back round to check on her.
"She was just sitting on the floor, rocking back and forth just looking totally out of it.
"I'd never seen anyone like that, so I got my camera out because I thought no one would believe me otherwise.
"I was in her face with a flash on and she hardly even noticed.
"She just couldn't tell I was even there.
"My sister was really scared. I was really disturbed, but I knew she was totally out of it so we were fine.
"But if she got up I would have run."
The cyclist, who wished to remain anonymous, says that the number of homeless people around Cambridge is increasing and sights like this are more common than before.
"It's a big problem," he said.
"They're all over the town centre and it's such a worry. It's a shame."
He also suspected the woman had taken a substance.
Her state is similar to many cases which have been seen since the increase in the use of spice.
The drug has been described as similar to cannabis but others have cited effects more like powerful hallucinogenics such as LSD.
And now it has emerged in a crystal form which put 10 people in hospital in Oldham in early July.
