A dad-of-two found dead in a pond ‘dedicated his whole life to his boys, family and friends’ say his grieving family.
The body of Billy Mitchell, 26, was found in Harlow, Essex on Saturday morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is not being treated as suspicious by Essex Police .
Billy left behind two young boys and a devastated family struggling to come to terms with their loss, reports EssexLive .
His big brother Matthew Benge said: “Billy was a kind, funny and loving man that would do anything for anyone.
“He was a devoted father to two little boys and would move mountains to make sure they were happy," he continued.
“He dedicated his whole life to his boys, family and friends.
“Billy touched a lot of peoples’ hearts and this has devastated the family and his friends.
“No words can describe how much he’ll be missed and nothing will ever fill the void that has hit our lives.
“There won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t think of you Billy – you’ll always be my little brother, we love you.”
The incident on the weekend happened in a pond situated in the middle of a wooded area near the main road into the Essex town of Harlow.
A neighbour said the path through the woodland is often used by residents in the area as a shortcut through to the road.
“There’s a path through there and you can walk around the pond and go all the way through to the main road at the back,” she explained.
“People always use it as a shortcut.”
