An off-duty NYPD cop drunkenly crashed his car into another vehicle in Brooklyn — then punched the good Samaritan who tried to stop him from fleeing, police said Tuesday.
Officer Tanvir Ahmed, 28, who works out of the 67th Precinct in East Flatbush, was allegedly driving drunk just before 9:30 p.m. Monday near Quinton Road and Dahill Road in Mapleton when he crashed his 2013 Nissan Altima into another vehicle.
Ahmed allegedly socked a man who tried stopping him from then driving off, police said. The cop fled the scene but was busted nearby, police said.
Ahmed was charged with assault, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and refusal to take a breath test.
He made just over $50,000 in 2017, according to SeeThroughNY.
