An elderly driver struck and killed a teenage girl after running a red light at a Queens intersection on Monday morning, police said.
Madeline Shershen, 17, who sources said attended St. Francis Prep High School, was crossing the street in the crosswalk at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Utopia Parkway in Clearview when she was hit by the 88-year-old driver at about 10:30 a.m., police said.
The driver, Sheila Kahn-Prager, was arrested after striking the teen and charged with three crimes, including disobeying a traffic control device.
Shershen was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital and pronounced dead soon after 11 a.m., police said.
